“Romy” newcomers wanted

Austrian Lotteries is on board as a sponsor of the “Entdeckung” (“Discovery”) category. 

The “Romy” award ceremony is the annual emotional highlight of the film and media industry – and winning the coveted statuette is like winning the lottery.
Rousing emotions and winning big prizes – that’s what Austrian Lotteries’ games are also about. This year, Austrian Lotteries took over the patronage for the “male/female discovery” category.

Since 1990, the most popular actors and TV journalists have been awarded these prestigious statuettes at glittering gala events. Once again this year, numerous ORF stars are among the nominees in nine categories – and while not every talent can become a star of the likes of Romy Schneider, it’s important to give newcomers in particular a spot in the limelight. 

The audience gets to decide who will ultimately win the race. Votes can still be cast at www.kurier.at/romy until March 19. The gala for the “Kurier Romy” awards will take place on Saturday, April 22 at the Vienna Hofburg and can be seen on ORF 2 from 9:10 pm.
