Based on an idea by Austrian Lotteries, sessions are being offered outside of Vienna again this year – in Carinthia, Salzburg and Upper Austria.

For eight years now, Vienna’s ImPulsTanz Festival, sponsored by Austrian Lotteries, has been organising free dance classes under the name “Public Moves” in public spaces every summer. This year, for the second time, the event will venture outside of Vienna to three other regions. They will start on Thursday, May 29 in the Landhaushof in Klagenfurt. Until August 8, the series of events will tour from Klagenfurt (until June 8) to Linz (June 12 to 22) and Salzburg (June 26 to July 6) before arriving in Vienna (June 7 to August 8).

The Public Moves dance classes are held daily under the open sky. Over 190 international and local instructors will share their expertise in over 360 free outdoor classes at a total of ten locations, ranging from yoga to Bollywood dance to hip hop. As always, no previous experience is necessary, and all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend.

The strong focus on accessibility will remain unchanged this year: for example, one class in every city is translated into Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS), and almost all locations are accessible for people with disabilities.

All information, locations, dates and a registration facility (which opens one day before the course starts) can be found at www.impulstanz.com/publicmoves.
