Lotto: 43 times six correct picks and 36 million-euro wins

2025 was a great Lotto year: no less than 43 players picked six correct numbers, and 36 of them won a million euros or more. Every month, at least one top prize was won – this streak of luck was spread all over the country. A player in Upper Austria winning the prize solo after a seven-fold jackpot worth 9.68 million euros caused quite a stir, securing a place among the all-time top 5 winners of the lottery’s top prize.

The classic normal ticket once again turned out to be a successful model this past year: the version with three hand-filled picks proved to be a particularly lucky choice, resulting in seven winning tickets. The town of Feldkirch made a splash last year: located in the district of Vorarlberg, Feldkirch boasted four top-tier prizes winners, putting it well ahead of Leoben, Neusiedl, Villach, Vienna-Leopoldstadt, and Wolfsberg, each of which could claim two such winners.

A total of 32 out of 116 districts won at least one top-tier prize, while three wins could not be attributed to any district because they were placed via win2day or the Lotteries app. Throughout the year, the trio of Thomas May, Evelyn Vysher, and Ralph Huber-Blechinger took turns conducting the 124 draws.
