Half a Million for player from Lower Austria

Eight six-figure winnings with break-open and scratch-off tickets in the first half-year already

With the distribution of countless instant prizes, Austrian Lotteries’ retail outlets brought a little or a lot of joy to plenty of lottery players this year. Eight times, winners had to be referred to Austrian Lotteries instead of receiving an instant payout, but the result was well worth the wait: they had each won the grand prize, a six-figure sum.

The biggest winner was a man from Lower Austria who won the top prize in the Mega break-open ticket, netting him a cool 500,000 euros. Another break-open ticket fan from Lower Austria, one from Carinthia and one from Styria each received 100,000 euros.

There were also four six-figure wins in scratch-off tickets in the first half of 2023: 250,000 euros each were won in Lower and Upper Austria, and 100,000 euros each in Upper Austria and Salzburg.
