For centuries, gold bars have been seen as a symbol of stable value and security, and they’re often used as an investment or a reserve.Now there is an alternative to buying bars of gold: find them on a scratch-off ticket.

The Austrian Lotteries’ new scratch-off ticket is called “Goldbarren” (“Bars of Gold”), and each ticket offers four different games with four different top prizes. You can win the top prize in Game 1: it amounts to 500,000 euros’ worth of gold, which is just over 
4 kilograms of the precious metal.

In Game 2, the top prize is 50,000 euros; in Game 3, it’s 20,000 euros; and in Game 4, the top prize is 10,000 euros. There are also numerous other prizes ranging from five euros to 100 euros. What makes the “Goldbarren” scratch-off ticket special is that every ticket’s a winner.

The “Goldbarren” scratch-off ticket can be purchased at all Austrian Lotteries’ retail outlets for 20 euros.
