Austria's "Athlete with a Heart" wanted

On October 14, it's that time again: at the LOTTERIEN Sporthilfe Gala, the country's largest and most important sports awards ceremony, not only are the top sports performance awards presented to our sports stars, but the "Athlete with a Heart" will be honoured for their special commitment in a social field for the ninth time.

This prize, initiated by Austrian Lotteries and endowed with 5,000 euros, is not about goals, points or trophies, but about fair play, moral courage and helpfulness. Which one of the twelve participating athletes will come in first place and take home the trophy as well as the cash prize for the project will be decided by the public via online poll at www.sportlermitherz.at/abstimmen up to September 26.

The award has been presented in cooperation with Sports Media Austria and Österreichische Sporthilfe (Austrian Sports Aid) since 2013. ORF eins will broadcast the LOTTERIEN Sporthilfe Gala live from Vienna's Konzerthaus in the main evening programming schedule on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 8.15 p.m.
