Since its foundation in 1984, the Vienna International Dance Festival has developed into the largest festival for contemporary dance and performance.

This year, as part of the 40th anniversary celebration, a uniquely diverse programme with performances, workshops, research projects and musical acts is once again available to all interested parties until August 6, 2023. In 2023, the ImPulsTanz Festival will present over 60 productions by Austrian and international artists and companies in an extraordinarily dense programme in Vienna’s theatres and museums.

Austrian Lotteries has been a sponsor of numerous institutions and projects related to culture and the arts in Austria for decades, and it has been a premium partner of the ImPulsTanz Festival since 2023.

Erwin van Lambaart, Director General of Austrian Lotteries, had this to say: “In line with our motto ‘Playsponsible – Practicing Responsibility Together!’, Austrian Lotteries maintains a tradition that is distinguished by its social commitment and responsibility. Our partnership with the ImPulsTanz festival is designed to give as many people as possible easy access to the enjoyment of culture and to inspire new musical talent. We congratulate the festival on its anniversary and we wish all participants a wonderful festival.”

As part of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival, Austrian Lotteries supports the “Public Moves”, which are open to all interested parties free of charge. More than 100 internationally recognised instructors at five locations offer an opportunity to try out various disciplines – such as yoga, Bollywood dance or hip hop – in the open air. With the support of Austrian Lotteries, it should also be possible to offer “Public Moves” in other parts of Austria in the 2024 season.

Karl Regensburger, ImPulsTanz Director, said: “This partnership enables us to realise projects that provide a low-threshold access to cultural events. We’re happy to see that, thanks to Austrian Lotteries, the free ‘Public Moves’ dance classes next year will take place not only in Vienna, but also in other regions of Austria.”
