3X3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP KICK-OFF: THESE ARE THE SONGS THE PROS USE TO MOTIVATE THEMSELVES
win2day is publishing an exclusive playlist with the medal contenders’ favourite songs.
The FIBA 3x3 World Championship presented by win2day is taking place at Vienna’s Rathausplatz from May 30 to June 4, 2023. Every day, some 15,000 sports enthusiasts are expected in the fan zone, where 20 international men’s and women’s teams will compete for World Championship titles in this new Olympic trend sport. 15,000 fans and 3,000 spectators per day on the Main Court are sure to shake up the Rathausplatz.
With a women’s and a men’s team, Austria will be on a quest for the gold, silver and bronze medals. The four players are in their final days of preparing for the event. That’s reason enough for win2day, the World Championship’s presenting partner, to ask how the World Championship stars get in the spirit for the home World Championship and to create an exclusive 3x3 World Championship Spotify playlist with their top hits.

Diversity in the women’s team
The basketball ladies’ taste in music is as varied as their skills on the court. Camilla Neumann is not just one of our best 3x3 players, but also a respected researcher in the areas of climate policy and economics. In preparation for the big World Championship matches, she’s in a summery mood. In addition to Farruko’s biggest hit (“Pepas”) Nicky Youre’s "Sunroof" is very high on her list.
Sarah Sagerer’s game preparation includes “Augen auf” by Sido and “Escapism” by RAYE & 070 Shake. Sagerer also happens to be multi-talented: after perfecting high school basketball in Ohio and Florida, she earned a degree in Business Administration. To chill out, she likes to listen to “Me Gustas Tu” by Manu Chao.
Sigi Koizar was also trained as a professional basketball player in the US, and her academic achievements placed her at the absolute top of her class at the University of Maine. The 27-year-old athlete prepares for her matches in a calmer, more southern way. She gets her pre-game boost from songs like “Un Beso en Madrid” by Tini and Alejandro Sanz, “Por Fin Te Econtre” by Cali Y El Dandee and “Amazed” by Lonestar.
Anja Fuchs-Robetin seeks out music with sophisticated lyrics to distract herself before a game. The 1.83-meter-tall Germany-player prefers to listen to Billy Joel’s classic “Vienna” in a cover by Greta Ray, “Going Out” by AnneMayKantereit and “These streets” by Paolo Nutini.
A team full of surprises
Before a game, Martin Trmal likes to listen to “Que Sera Sera” by Doris Day! The 26-year-old athlete associates this ‘50s classic with one of his favourite movies: “The Man Who Knew Too Much”. It’s a completely different vibe, however, when he cranks up “FTS” from Showtek.
Matthias Linortner turns out to be a fan of the 2000s. The 1.95-meter-tall native of Gmunden uses “Stan” by Eminem feat. Dido to “appreciate how good I have it” and Obsesiòn by Aventura to put him in a good mood. Things get louder during the warm-up when he puts on “Humble” by Kendrick Lamar.
Filip Krämer and Nico Kaltenbrunner are not just connected by the 3x3 national team, but also by their passion for “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire. “Everybody sings along and it brings good vibes and a smile to everyone’s face,” Kaltenbrunner said. While Krämer uses “Over” by Drake to get motivated, Kaltenbrunner uses “Hold You – Hold Yuh” by Gyptian to push.
