38 New Millionaires In A Single Day

Plenty of picks, few stakes and higher odds of winning – meet the EuroMillions share ticket

It’s truly unprecedented: 38 lottery millionaires in Austria in a single day – and it was made possible by the EuroMillions share ticket, which succeeded in cracking the € 72 million Europot on August 1.

If you’re not necessarily out to win tens of millions of euros, but would be happy with just a fraction of that and instead want to improve your odds of sharing in the big prize, Austrian Lotteries has the share ticket that’s just right for you.
The idea behind the share ticket is quite simple: you take part in a variety of picks while only putting up a low stake. On the one hand, this increases your chance of winning and, on the other hand, you only have a certain share in any prize.

Just look at the 38 people from all of Austria’s nine federal states who split the 63 shares of “Chance XXL” at the beginning of August and thus won between 1.1 million and 5.7 million euros each, depending on the number of their shares. (Up to five shares are possible per person.)
There are three different chances with the share ticket, L, XL and XXL, each of which is based on a specific system for having the computer generate the picks. 

With “Chance L”, a player enters the draw with 63 picks at a price of 7.70 euros per share (there are 21 shares). In “Chance XL” there are 168 picks at a price of 10.20 euros for each of the 42 shares, and in “Chance XXL” there are 378 picks at 15.20 euros per share; in this case there are 63 shares.
