Austrian Lotteries’ record of winners and prizes won took on entirely new dimensions in 2023.

75 years ago, in December of 1948, the National Council passed the Sports Pools Act (“Sporttoto-Gesetz”) and with the introduction of pools betting (Toto) laid the foundations for sports sponsorship in Austria.

For Austrian Lotteries, 2023 draws to a close with an unprecedented balance of winners.

It has become almost as much of a tradition as a toast with a glass of champagne as we usher in another year: giving someone a scratch-off ticket for that extra portion of good luck is a great way to wish someone the best for the upcoming year.

75 years of sports promotion. For decades, Austrian Lotteries has been the most important financer of popular as well as performance sports in our country.

Scratch-off tickets in a winter- and Christmas-themed outfit are a seasonal tradition and enjoy great popularity year after year, not least because adults often buy them as a present for other adults.

Since the end of October, a new game – EuroDreams – has been available in Austria as well as seven other participating countries: France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

This year, Austrian Lotteries is once again participating in the international “Gambling is not child’s play” campaign.

If you enjoy playing a single scratch-off ticket, imagine how much fun six scratch-off tickets will be!
