At EuroMillions, the impossible can become possible, because anyone who wins the EuroMillions jackpot can fulfil more than just one dream. Over the years, this dream has already come true for a number of Austrian players. In this article, find out how many Austrian millionaires EuroMillions has created so far and just how impressive the biggest prizes have been.
How does EuroMillions work?
EuroMillions is one of Europe's most popular lotteries. It was launched in February 2004, and Austria joined the game in September 2004. To play, you select five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 12. A single line costs €2.50 in Austria.
The top prize starts at €17 million for every draw. However, just like in Lotto "6 out of 45", a jackpot can roll over if nobody wins, creating the famous EuroMillions jackpot. This can grow to as much as €250 million, an amount that captures the imagination of lottery fans across Europe.
With every EuroMillions entry, Austrian players are also automatically entered into the ÖsterreichBonus, which guarantees a €100,000 prize exclusively for participants in Austria at every EuroMillions draw.
EuroMillions draws take place twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, in Paris. You can submit your entries at one of the many lottery retailers or online via win2day.at and the Austrian Lotteries app.
