Zahlenlotto

Zahlenlotto

This lotto game, also known as "Zahlenlotto", was introduced in 1752 by a decree of Empress Maria Teresa; the first draw took place in October 1752. It is the oldest licensed game of chance in Austria.

Five numbers out of the numbers from 1 to 90 are drawn in Zahlenlotto. Furthermore, there exist seven game types with different chances of winning. In case of "Extrakt" and "Ruf", a prize can already be won with 1 correct number. Further game types are "Ambo", "Terno", "Ambo-Terno 3", "Ambo-Terno 4" and "Ambo-Terno 5".

The draws of Zahlenlotto take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and the results are communicated after the local news "Österreich Heute" and "Bundesland Heute" on the national TV-channel ORF 2.

The prize per tip is fixed, ranging from EUR 0.75 to EUR 500.00. The highest prize possible is the stake times 5,000.
