Österreichische Sportwetten Gesellschaft m.b.H. (Austrian Sports Betting Company) was formed in April 2000 and started its gaming operations on 24 August 2001. It is a subsidiary of Entertainment Glücks- und Unterhaltungsspiel Gesellschaft m.b.H. (56 per cent), Mediaprint Zeitungs- und Zeitschriftenverlag GmbH & Co. KG (newspaper and magazine publisher) (26 per cent), and Bundesländerverlage Beteiligungsgesellschaft GmbH (investment company of the Austrian Provincial publishers) (18 per cent). Casinos Austria AG and Österreichische Lotterien Gesellschaft m.b.H. each hold 50 per cent of the shares in Entertainment Glücksund Unterhaltungsspiel Gesellschaft m.b.H..

By introducing the brand Better Game Solutions (BGS), tipp3 will enter new territory on the sports betting market: With a comprehensive portfolio, the company now also targets the business-to-business sector. Within the Casinos Austria/Austrian Lotteries Group, BGS is the solution provider for handling of all types of betting activities.

The entire year 2011 was already marked by the preparations for the comprehensive product relaunch of tipp3, which was implemented in February 2012. The changes are centred around an expanded, improved range of games with a remodelled appearance, addressing beginners as well as advanced bettors and pros. The online betting area on www.tipp3.at was replaced by a reformed website and expanded by a live betting option.

Participation in sports betting under the label “tipp3” – in the retail outlet, as well as via the Internet – is only possible for customers aged 18 and over.
