In 1986 after granting the governmental concession to implement Lotto and Toto (football pools) Österreichische Lotterien Gesellschaft m.b.H. (Austrian Lotteries) was founded. Lotto “6 out of 45” was launched in September 1986, followed by additional options like Joker (a numbers game) and Torwette (goal bet) in October 1988. In March 1990 Austrian Lotteries was authorized to take over “Brieflos” (break-open tickets), “Zahlenlotto” (numbers pool 1-90) and “Klassenlotterie” (Austrian Class Lottery). These games were arranged before by Austrian Games of Chance Monopoly Administration. “Rubbellos” (scratch-off tickets) got introduced in February 1995 onto the Austrian market. In December 1998 Austrian Lotteries enabled internet users to play a variety of games online as well – first on webclub.at until its change to the online gaming platform win2day.at in 2003. . “Bingo” (launched in November 1999) and ToiToiToi which first was placed on the market in March 2003 broke new ground in the history of Austrian Lotteries.
Since October 2004 players can chance their luck also by playing EuroMillionen (a pooled lottery in nine European countries) In May 2004 WINWIN opened its first locations with Video Lottery Terminals. Currently there are twelve WINWIN outlets around Austria.
